Nuura Liila Muuse Medium IP44 Wall/Flush Light - Nordic Gold & Opal Glass

Liila Muuse Medium is a small, sculptural wall or ceiling light with a distinctive rippled backplate, more textured and playful than the plain circular discs used elsewhere in the Liila collection, paired with a single opal glass globe set just off centre. It's designed to throw pattern as well as light, the ridges in the metal catching shadow as much as shine.

Nordic gold and opal glass

This version finishes the rippled backplate in Nordic Gold, a warm brushed metal, with an opal white glass globe. The opal glass gives a soft, even glow, while the wave like texture of the gold backplate behind it catches light at different angles, creating subtle shifts of highlight and shadow across the metal rather than a flat, uniform surface. It suits characterful hallways and entrances where a bit more decorative detail feels at home.

How it works

Liila Muuse Medium takes a single G9 lamp (7W) and can be installed as a wall light or a flush ceiling light. It's hardwired, so it needs to be connected by a qualified electrician. The fitting measures around Ø42cm across the backplate, projecting about 16.8cm from the wall or ceiling.

Where it works best

Its scale and decorative backplate make it a good match for a hallway, stairwell or entrance where you want a bit more presence than the plainer Liila 1 pieces offer. With an IP44 rating, it's also suitable for installation in a bathroom, provided it's positioned in a zone that permits IP44 fittings, as explained in our bathroom lighting zones guide.

Nuura is a Danish lighting brand founded in Copenhagen in 2017 by Sofie Refer, Nadia Lassen and Peter Østerberg. Liila Muuse takes the brand's usual restraint and adds a more playful, textured backplate, while keeping the same mouth blown glass at its centre.
