Nuura Liila 1 Light Medium IP44 Wall/Flush Light - Nordic Gold & Optic Clear Glass

Liila 1 Medium is a compact wall or ceiling light from Nuura's Liila collection, built around one hand blown glass sphere set just off the wall on a slim, circular backplate. It's designed to be almost architectural in how little space it takes up, a single considered detail rather than a big lighting statement.

Nordic gold and optic clear glass

This variant pairs a Nordic Gold backplate, a warm, brushed golden metal, with optic clear glass rather than opal. The clear glass has a gentle inner texture that catches and scatters the light source, so you get small points of sparkle within the sphere alongside the golden glow of the metal underneath. It works well against brass hardware, warm timber and richer colour palettes where you want a bit of glamour without anything shouting for attention.

How it works

A single G9 lamp (7W) powers Liila 1 Medium, which can be installed as a wall light or flush against the ceiling depending on the room. It's a hardwired fitting, so a qualified electrician needs to connect it. It measures around Ø16.5cm and projects roughly 17cm out from the surface, on a circular backplate about 10cm across.

Where it works best

Think entrance halls, staircases, or as a repeated detail along a corridor wall, anywhere a small hit of warm light and gold detailing lifts the space. With its IP44 rating, it's also suitable for installation in a bathroom, provided the position falls within a zone that permits IP44 fittings, as set out in our bathroom lighting zones guide.

About Nuura

Nuura is a Danish lighting brand established in Copenhagen in 2017 by designer Sofie Refer together with Nadia Lassen and Peter Østerberg. The studio works extensively in mouth blown glass and warm metal finishes, reworking familiar ideas like the chandelier and the wall sconce into something quieter and more contemporary.
