Nuura Liila 1 Light Medium IP44 Wall/Flush Light - Dark Bronze & Optic Clear Glass

Liila 1 Medium is a compact wall or ceiling light built around a single hand blown glass sphere, held just off the surface by a slim, circular backplate. It's one of the smaller pieces in Nuura's Liila collection, quiet enough to sit unnoticed until it's switched on, when the glass becomes the whole point of the piece.

Dark bronze and optic clear glass

Here the circular backplate comes in dark bronze, a deep, warm metal with a slightly antiqued character rather than a hard polished look. Paired with optic clear glass, which has a faceted, faintly rippled inner surface, the light source shows through as small glints and highlights rather than an even wash, giving the sphere more presence when lit. It's a combination that suits darker, more tonal interiors, aged brass ironmongery, walnut or oak joinery, and rooms where you want the metal to recede a little rather than stand out.

How it works

Liila 1 Medium takes a single G9 lamp (7W) and can be installed as either a wall light or a flush ceiling light, whichever suits the space. As a hardwired fitting it needs to be connected by a qualified electrician. It measures around Ø16.5cm and projects roughly 17cm from the wall or ceiling, with a circular backplate of about 10cm across.

Where it works best

Its small scale makes Liila 1 Medium useful in spots a pendant or larger wall light would overwhelm, hallways, landings, either side of a mirror, or dotted along a run of wall as a repeating detail. With an IP44 rating, it's also suitable for installation in a bathroom, provided it's positioned in a zone that permits IP44 fittings.
