Nuura Liila 1 Light Medium IP44 Wall/Flush Light - Black & Optic Clear Glass

Liila 1 Medium takes the single sphere idea at the heart of Nuura's Liila collection and gives it a slightly more substantial presence than the Small version, while still reading as a light, floating form on the wall or ceiling. A slim circular backplate holds the hand blown glass sphere just proud of the surface, so it looks almost suspended rather than fixed.

Black finish and optic clear glass

Here a black metal backplate is paired with optic clear glass rather than opal. The clear glass carries a subtle embossed texture that catches the light and lets more of the source show through, giving a brighter, slightly sparkling glow, while the black finish keeps the whole fitting quiet and easy to place against most colour schemes.

How it works

It takes a single G9 lamp, rated up to 7W, and can be installed as either a wall light or a flush ceiling fitting depending on where it's needed. It's hardwired, so it must be connected by a qualified electrician rather than plugged in. The glass sphere itself measures around 14cm across, with the whole fitting roughly 16.5cm wide and 17cm deep from the wall or ceiling.

Where it works best

With an IP44 rating, Liila 1 Medium is suitable for installation in a bathroom, provided it's positioned in a zone that permits IP44 fittings, and it works just as well in hallways, small landings and low ceilinged rooms where a pendant would feel too heavy.
