Nuura Liila 1 Light Large IP44 Wall/Flush Light - Light Silver & Optic Clear Glass

Liila 1 Large is the biggest lamp in Nuura's Liila collection, built around a single large, hand blown glass sphere. A slim, circular backplate in light silver metal holds the glass slightly off the wall or ceiling, so the globe reads almost as if it's floating rather than fixed in place.

Light silver finish and optic clear glass

This version combines a light silver metal backplate with an optic clear glass sphere, its surface given a subtle, ribbed texture rather than left perfectly smooth. That texture catches and scatters the light as it passes through, so you see a sparkle of individual highlights across the glass rather than a flat, even glow, while the light silver finish keeps the whole piece cool and understated.

How it works

Liila 1 Large takes a single G9 lamp (7W) and is designed to be used interchangeably as a wall light or a flush ceiling light. It's a hardwired fixture, so it needs to be connected by a qualified electrician rather than plugged in. The fitting measures 255mm across the backplate and projects 230mm from the wall or ceiling, with a 200mm diameter glass globe.

Where it works best

Its larger scale suits entrance halls, stairwells and living rooms where you want a single, sculptural light with more presence than the smaller Liila sizes. With an IP44 rating, it's also suitable for installation in a bathroom, provided it's positioned in a zone that permits IP44 fittings. For guidance on which parts of a bathroom that covers, see our guide, Bathroom Lighting Zones and IP Ratings Explained: The Simple UK Guide.

About Nuura

Liila is one of Nuura's more compact collections, built around the idea of a single glass form rather than a cluster or chandelier. Nuura, the Danish brand behind it, was founded in Copenhagen in 2017.

Good to know

• Made to order by Nuura, so please allow time for production and delivery.
• As with all Nuura fittings, this piece is non-returnable once ordered unless it arrives faulty.
• IP44 rated: protected against water splashes from any direction, suitable for use in appropriate bathroom lighting zones. Check our bathroom lighting zones guide before choosing its exact position.
• Hardwired fitting, must be installed by a registered electrician.

Questions People Ask

Can I fit this Nuura Liila 1 Large myself? We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting. It is a hardwired wall or flush ceiling light and cannot simply be plugged in.

Can I return it if I change my mind? No. Nuura fittings are made to order, so they are non-returnable once ordered, unless an item arrives faulty.

Is the bulb included, and can it be dimmed? The G9 LED lamp (7W max) is not supplied. The light can be dimmed if you use a dimmable LED lamp that suits your dimmer circuit.

Can it be used in a bathroom? Yes. It is rated IP44, so it suits bathroom lighting zones that permit IP44 fittings. Check the zones guide before choosing its position.

Can it go on a wall and on a ceiling? Yes. Liila 1 Large is designed to be used as either a wall light or a flush ceiling light.

How big is it, and how do I clean it? The backplate is 255mm in diameter, the glass globe is 200mm in diameter and the fitting projects 230mm. Clean it with a soft, dry cloth only, without household cleaning products.

Is the glass the same on every piece? The optic clear glass is mouth blown and finished by hand, so small differences in texture and clarity between pieces are normal.
