Nuura Liila 1 Light Large IP44 Wall/Flush Light - Light Silver & Opal Glass

Liila 1 Large is the biggest lamp in Nuura's Liila collection, built around a single large, hand blown glass sphere. A slim, circular backplate in light silver metal holds the glass slightly off the wall or ceiling, so the globe reads almost as if it's floating rather than fixed in place.

Light silver finish and opal glass

This version pairs a light silver metal backplate with an opal white glass sphere. Unlike the optic clear option, opal glass diffuses the light evenly across the whole surface of the globe, giving a soft, uniform glow rather than a sparkle of individual highlights, while the light silver finish keeps the overall look cool, calm and easy to place against most colour schemes.

How it works

Liila 1 Large takes a single G9 lamp (7W) and is designed to be used interchangeably as a wall light or a flush ceiling light. It's a hardwired fixture, so it needs to be connected by a qualified electrician rather than plugged in. The fitting measures roughly 25.5cm across the backplate and projects 23cm from the wall or ceiling, with a 20cm glass globe.

Where it works best

Its larger scale suits entrance halls, stairwells and living rooms where you want a single, sculptural light with more presence than the smaller Liila sizes, and the soft opal glow works well as a gentle, even wash rather than a decorative sparkle. With an IP44 rating, it's also suitable for installation in a bathroom, provided it's positioned in a zone that permits IP44 fittings. Questions People Ask

Does the Nuura Liila 1 Large need an electrician to fit it? It is a hardwired Class I fitting for wall or flush ceiling use. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

Can I return it if I change my mind? No. Nuura fittings are made to order, so they are non-returnable once ordered, unless an item arrives faulty.

What light source does it take, and can it be dimmed? It takes one G9 LED lamp, 7W maximum, which is not supplied. It can be dimmed if you fit a dimmable LED lamp that suits your dimmer circuit.

Can I use it in a bathroom? It is rated IP44, so it can be used in bathroom zones that permit IP44 fittings. Check the bathroom lighting zones guide before choosing its position.

How big is it? The backplate is 255mm across, the fitting projects 230mm from the wall or ceiling, and the glass globe is 200mm in diameter. It weighs 1.2kg.

Will the glass and finish look exactly like the pictures? The opal glass is mouth blown and the powder coated metal is hand finished, so small differences between pieces are normal. Screens also render colour differently, so call customer service if you are in doubt about exact colour.
