Nuura Liila 1 Light Large IP44 Wall/Flush Light - Light Silver & Opal Glass

Liila 1 Large is the biggest lamp in Nuura's Liila collection, built around a single large, hand blown glass sphere. A slim, circular backplate in light silver metal holds the glass slightly off the wall or ceiling, so the globe reads almost as if it's floating rather than fixed in place.

This version pairs a light silver metal backplate with an opal white glass sphere. Unlike the optic clear option, opal glass diffuses the light evenly across the whole surface of the globe, giving a soft, uniform glow rather than a sparkle of individual highlights, while the light silver finish keeps the overall look cool, calm and easy to place against most colour schemes.

How it works

Liila 1 Large takes a single G9 lamp (7W) and is designed to be used interchangeably as a wall light or a flush ceiling light. It's a hardwired fixture, so it needs to be connected by a qualified electrician rather than plugged in. The fitting measures roughly 25.5cm across the glass and projects 23cm from the wall or ceiling, with a 14cm backplate.

Where it works best

Its larger scale suits entrance halls, stairwells and living rooms where you want a single, sculptural light with more presence than the smaller Liila sizes, and the soft opal glow works well as a gentle, even wash rather than a decorative sparkle. With an IP44 rating, it's also suitable for installation in a bathroom, provided it's positioned in a zone that permits IP44 fittings.
