Nuura Liila 1 Light Large IP44 Wall/Flush Light - Dark Bronze & Optic Clear Glass

Liila 1 Large is the biggest lamp in Nuura's Liila collection, built around a single large, hand blown glass sphere. A slim, circular backplate in dark bronze metal holds the glass slightly off the wall or ceiling, so the globe reads almost as if it's floating rather than fixed in place.

Dark bronze finish and optic clear glass

This version pairs a dark bronze metal backplate with an optic clear glass sphere, its surface finished with a fine, diamond patterned texture rather than left smooth. Light passing through picks out that texture as a scatter of small highlights across the glass, while the dark bronze finish gives the piece a deeper, more grounded look than the lighter metal options, well suited to darker or more moody interiors.

How it works

Liila 1 Large takes a single G9 lamp (7W) and is designed to be used interchangeably as a wall light or a flush ceiling light. It's a hardwired fixture, so it needs to be connected by a qualified electrician rather than plugged in. The fitting has a 25.5cm round backplate, a glass globe 20cm across, and projects 23cm from the wall or ceiling.

Where it works best

Its larger scale suits entrance halls, stairwells and living rooms where you want a single, sculptural light with more presence than the smaller Liila sizes, and the dark bronze finish reads particularly well against warm wood or deep, muted wall colours. With an IP44 rating, it's also suitable for installation in a bathroom, provided it's positioned in a zone that permits IP44 fittings. For guidance on which parts of a bathroom that covers, see our guide, Bathroom Lighting Zones and IP Ratings Explained: The Simple UK Guide.

About Nuura

Nuura was founded in Copenhagen in 2017, and Liila remains one of its most compact collections, built around a single glass form rather than a cluster or chandelier.
