Liila 1 Large is the biggest of the three sizes in Nuura's Liila collection, still built around a single hand blown glass sphere, but with enough scale to work as a standalone feature rather than a small accent. A slim circular backplate holds the glass a little proud of the wall or ceiling, so it reads almost like a floating orb.
Dark bronze and opal glass
This version brings a dark bronze backplate, deep and slightly antiqued in character, together with an opal white glass sphere. At this larger size the opal glass gives a broad, even wash of soft light across the whole globe, while the dark bronze sits quietly behind it rather than competing for attention. It suits darker or more traditionally toned rooms, aged brass details, dark timber, or deep painted walls.
How it works
Liila 1 Large uses a single G9 lamp (7W) and can be fitted as a wall light or a flush ceiling light. It's hardwired, so installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician. It measures around Ø25.5cm and projects roughly 23cm from the surface, on a circular backplate of about 14cm.
Where it works best
Its larger scale suits it to bigger hallways, stairwells and entrance spaces where a bit more presence is welcome, or as a statement either side of a bed or a large mirror. With an IP44 rating, it's also suitable for installation in a bathroom, provided it sits in a zone that permits IP44 fittings, as set out in our bathroom lighting zones guide.

- The glass is mouth blown and the finish is hand applied, so finish and colour can vary slightly from piece to piece. Opal glass can also look different lit and unlit, and screens show colour differently. If you are unsure about exact size or colour, please call customer service.

Questions People Ask
Does this light need a qualified electrician to install? It is a hardwired Class I fitting for wall or flush ceiling mounting. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.
Can I return it if I change my mind? No. Nuura fittings are made to order, so they are non-returnable once ordered, unless an item arrives faulty.
What light source does it take, and can it be dimmed? It takes one G9 LED lamp, 7W maximum, which is not supplied. It can be dimmed if you fit a dimmable LED lamp that suits your dimmer circuit.
Is it suitable for a bathroom? It is IP44 rated, so it is protected against splashes from any direction. It can be used in bathroom zones that permit IP44 fittings, so check the zones guide before choosing a position.
Will the glass and finish look exactly like the photos? Not always. The opal glass is mouth blown and the finish is hand applied, so slight variation between pieces is normal, and the glass looks different lit and unlit. If you are unsure about colour, please call customer service.
How big is it and how should I clean it? The fitting is about 255mm across and 230mm deep, with a 200mm glass globe. Clean it with a soft, dry or damp cloth and no detergents.
