Nuura Liila 1 Light Large IP44 Wall/Flush Light - Black & Opal Glass

Liila 1 Large is the largest size in Nuura's single sphere Liila collection, still simple in construction, a hand blown glass globe on a slim circular backplate, but scaled up enough to hold its own as a feature piece on a wall or ceiling.

Black finish and opal glass

Here a black metal backplate sits behind an opal white glass sphere, a high contrast pairing that keeps the fitting graphic and clean against most wall colours. The opal glass diffuses the light evenly across the whole globe for a soft, rounded glow, while the black backplate all but disappears once the room is dark, leaving the lit sphere to do the work. It suits contemporary interiors and works particularly well against white or pale walls.

How it works

It takes a single G9 lamp (7W) and can be installed as a wall light or a flush ceiling light. Being hardwired, it needs to be connected by a qualified electrician. It measures around Ø25.5cm and projects about 23cm from the wall or ceiling, on a backplate roughly 14cm across.

Where it works best

Given its size, Liila 1 Large works well as a single feature over a console table, in a generous hallway, or on a stairwell wall where it can be seen from a distance. It carries an IP44 rating, so it's suitable for installation in a bathroom too, provided it's positioned in a zone that allows IP44 fittings.
