Mullan Sakura Wall Light - Marbled with Finish Options

Marbled Ceramic: Timeless Quality With a Twin Bulb Output

The Sakura Wall Light in Marbled finish is a 29cm tall, 11cm wide handmade ceramic wall fitting with the timeless visual quality of hand painted marbled ceramic and a distinctive twin E27 bulb configuration that delivers a broader, more even light output than single bulb wall lights. The swirling tones of cream, warm grey and natural stone are applied individually at Mullan Village before firing. No two pieces carry an identical pattern. The result is a wall light that has genuine decorative quality and a practical light output that suits larger rooms as well as smaller ones.

How It Works

The Sakura Wall Light takes 2 x E27 bulbs, directed outward and downward through the ceramic shade. Both bulbs should be the same type and wattage. A warm white dimmable E27 LED is recommended for both sockets. The twin bulb configuration delivers a noticeably broader spread of light across the wall and into the room.

Where It Works Best

The Marbled Sakura suits dining rooms, living rooms, bedrooms and hallways where a wall fitting with genuine decorative quality and a higher light output is wanted. The marbled finish works across a very wide range of interior styles and pairs naturally with natural stone, warm timber, aged brass and soft neutral textiles.

The Story Behind Mullan

Mullan Lighting was founded in 2009 by architect Mike Treanor, who restored a derelict 19th century flax mill in Mullan Village, County Monaghan. Ceramicist Stephen Kieran developed the marbling technique by drawing on the layered stone and mineral textures of the Irish landscape. Over 100 craftspeople work at the studio and every piece is made to order using sustainable clay and recycled brass.

FAQs

Why does this wall light take two bulbs?
The Sakura takes 2 x E27 bulbs, both directed through the same shade, giving a brighter, more even light output than a single bulb fitting of the same size.

Will my wall light look exactly like the photo?
The marbling is hand painted so the pattern on your piece will differ from the photos. The tones will be consistent but the character of the marbling is unique to every piece.

Is this suitable for a bathroom?
The Sakura Wall Light is IP20 rated and suitable for dry indoor areas only. It is not certified for bathroom wet zones.

Can I use dimmable bulbs?
Yes. Compatible with dimmable E27 LED bulbs. Ensure your dimmer switch is rated for LED use. Bulbs not included.

Can I return it?
No. Every Mullan light is made to order, so it cannot be returned unless it arrives faulty or damaged. If anything is wrong when it arrives, please contact us as soon as possible.
