Mullan Lighting was founded in 2009 by architect Mike Treanor, who took on the restoration of a derelict 19th century flax mill in Mullan Village and turned it into one of the most respected handmade lighting studios in the world. The ceramics brand was developed to continue the centuries old identity of Mullan as a village of makers, with ceramicist Stephen Kieran at the creative helm of the finishing process. His philosophy — to work with the natural properties of clay rather than against them — is visible in every blue earth shade that leaves the kiln. Today Mullan employs over 100 people and exports to more than 55 countries, supplying discerning homeowners and prestigious hospitality venues alike.
