Eos takes its cue from the shape of a cloud, a soft, irregular outline in white polyethylene that spreads light broadly rather than throwing it from a single point. It is one of the few Mantra ceiling fittings robust enough to move between a covered outdoor space and a steamy bathroom without a second thought.

Eos in this size is available in white, with the cloud shaped diffuser mounted on a white powder coated metal plate. The diffuser is high grade polyethylene, which is what allows the piece to carry a genuine IP44 rating rather than the more decorative fabric or glass finishes used elsewhere in the Mantra range.

How It Works

Six E27 bulbs sit behind the polyethylene shade, each rated up to a maximum of 15W, giving a wide and even spread of light across the irregular cloud footprint. The fitting is wired to Class I standard, so it needs a proper earth connection, and the whole piece is rated IP44, meaning it is protected against splashing water and small particles. Because of that rating it can be used in bathroom zones 1 and 2, as well as sheltered outdoor spots such as a covered porch or veranda. Where It Works Best

The 90cm span makes Eos a genuine centrepiece rather than a discreet fitting, so it suits larger bathrooms, utility spaces or covered outdoor seating areas where the ceiling can take a bit of scale. It is a different proposition to Mantra's smaller, purely decorative flush lights, since the combination of six bulbs and an IP44 rating means it is doing a practical job of lighting a functional, sometimes wet, room properly.
