The LuxR Micro Spike Spot with Glare Guard is a miniature low voltage spotlight on a spike that pushes into the soil, with a glare guard fitted to the head. The brand states it is ideal for planters, larger pots and lighting small trees. Plant it, then aim it.

Copper That Weathers Naturally

This version is precision machined from copper. It begins warm and bright, then slowly develops a natural patina outdoors, so the fitting blends into the garden. The light source is a pin mounted 1 watt Cree XPG-3 LED with a CRI of 90 plus.

Choose Your Spike, Beam and Colour

• Spike length: 150mm suits pots and low borders, and 300mm lifts the head in deeper planting.
• Beam: 16º is tight for a single feature, 37º is a medium spread, 84º is a wide wash, and the oval beam gives a flatter, wider shape.
• Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white.

How It Works

Push the spike into the soil and aim the head at your subject. The glare guard shields the light source from view. It runs on low voltage, so it needs a suitable constant current driver, which is not included, and it is wired in series. It is dimmable when paired with a suitable dimmable driver. A 1m cable is supplied. The LED can be replaced or swapped for a colour LED, and the optic can be changed to alter the beam width.

Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where It Works Best

Choose this version where the light may be seen from a seat, a window or a path, and you want less direct sparkle from the lamp. The same design is available in the larger M2 and M4 sizes.

What does the glare guard do?

It shields the light source so there is less direct glare when you look towards the fitting.

Which beam angle should I choose?

Choose 16º for a single feature, 37º for a shrub or small tree, 84º for a broad wash, and oval for a wider, flatter shape.

Does it come with a driver?

No. It is a low voltage fitting and needs a suitable constant current driver, sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. We recommend a registered electrician installs it.

Will the copper change colour?

Yes. Copper develops a natural patina outdoors, so it darkens and softens over time. This is normal.
