LuxR Modux 4 Wall Down Light - Solid Brass - Low Voltage

A Compact Wall Down Light With a Clean, Minimal Form

The LuxR Modux 4 Wall Down Light is a small, discreet cylinder that fixes to the wall and sends a controlled beam of light down it. It is only 40.6mm across, so it highlights textured brick, render or stone, picks out steps and paths, and shows off architectural detail without drawing attention to itself.

Solid Brass

This version is machined in solid brass, which has a warm gold colour and develops a natural patina outdoors, so it settles into the garden over time. The light source is a screw mounted 4 watt Cree LED, which the brand states delivers around 375 lumens with a CRI of 90+.

Choose Your Beam, Colour and Lens

• Beam: 26º is a narrow beam that draws a tight line of light down the wall, 36º is a medium spread, and 74º is a wide wash.
• Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white.
• Lens: clear glass gives the sharpest beam, and frosted glass softens its edges.

How It Works

The fitting fixes to the wall with a mounting plate. It runs on low voltage from a 700mA constant current driver, which is sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. The LED can be replaced later, so you can change the colour or the beam without buying a new fitting.

Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where It Works Best

Use it beside a door, along a garden wall, at the side of steps or on a terrace, wherever you want light to fall down a wall surface. The warm tone of brass suits brick, stone and timber. The 4 watt LED gives a little more output than the M2, which helps on larger walls or longer runs of wall. A glare guard or a snoot can be added if you want tighter control of the light. Questions People Ask

What does the M4 wall down light do?

It is a small wall mounted cylinder that throws light downwards, so it grazes the wall below it. It suits doorways, steps, paths and architectural detail.

Which beam angle should I choose?

Choose 26º for a narrow stripe of light, 36º for a medium spread, and 74º for a broad wash across the wall.

Will the brass change colour?

Yes. Solid brass patinas naturally over time, so the warm gold colour will soften and deepen with weather and age.

Does the wall down light come with a driver?

No. It is a low voltage fitting that needs a suitable 700mA constant current driver, sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. We recommend a registered electrician installs it.

How big is it?

The fitting is 108mm high and 40.6mm across, and it projects 56.3mm from the wall including the mounting plate.

Can I change the LED later?

Yes. The 4 watt Cree LED can be replaced, so the colour or beam can be changed without a new fitting.

What is the difference between the M2 and M4 wall down light?

The M2 uses a 2 watt LED, while the M4 uses a 4 watt LED that the brand states delivers around 375 lumens.
