More Light, Less Glare, in Seven Colours

The LuxR Modux 4 Pole Spot with Glare Guard has a 4 watt LED that gives roughly twice the light of the Modux 2, plus an adjustable hood that stops the LED being seen head on. It stands on a 400mm pole with an adjustable head, and comes in seven powder coat colours so it can blend into the planting or match your outdoor scheme.

Powder Coated Aluminium

The fitting is made in aluminium with a UV stable polyester Eco matt powder coat, offered in matt black, matt bronze, matt olive green, matt white, matt white birch, matt dark grey and matt silver star. Matt black is a deep, non reflective black, and matt bronze is a dark brown that sits well beside timber and bark. Inside is a screw mounted 4 watt Cree LED, which the brand states delivers around 360 lumens.

How the Glare Guard Works

The hood is a friction fit shield that turns through 360º and stays where it is set. It protects the eye from the direct sparkle of the LED and helps send unwanted light away from passers by. The glass is fitted flush so water does not pool on the lens, and a hexcell louvre baffle can be used with it if you want tighter control.

Choose Your Colour, Beam, Temperature and Lens

Colour: any of the seven powder coat finishes.
Beam: 26º is narrow and reaches furthest, 36º is medium, and 74º is a wide spread.
Colour temperature: 2200K is very warm, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is neutral white.
Lens: clear for a defined beam, frosted for a softer edge.

How It Works

Push the pole into the soil, tilt the head to aim it and turn the hood to suit the view. The fitting is low voltage and needs a suitable driver, which is not included. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. The LED and the optic can both be changed later.

Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where It Works Best

Use it for a large tree or feature that is seen from a terrace, path or window, where you want strong light without a bright glare source in view. It is also a good pick beside seating areas. We can also supply longer poles, so please contact us to discuss the length you need.

Questions People Ask

Why choose the M4 with a glare guard?

The M4 gives more light than the M2, and the hood keeps the brighter LED out of direct view. It suits places where the fitting is seen from close by.

How tall is the pole spot with glare guard?

The pole is 400mm long and the whole fitting measures 550.1mm from the tip of the spike to the top of the glare guard. How much shows above ground depends on how deep you push it into the soil.

Which finishes are offered?

Seven finishes: matt black, matt bronze, matt olive green, matt white, matt white birch, matt dark grey and matt silver star. Bronze is a dark brown.

Can the hood be rotated?

Yes. It rotates through 360º and stays in place by friction.

Is a driver included?

No. It is a low voltage fitting and needs a suitable driver, sold separately. We recommend a registered electrician installs it.
