LuxR Modux 4 Pole Spot with Glare Guard - Copper - Low Voltage

Strong Light, Warm Copper and a Shielded Lens

The LuxR Modux 4 Pole Spot with Glare Guard brings together a solid copper body, a 4 watt LED and an adjustable hood over the lens. It gives about twice the light of the Modux 2, and the hood keeps the LED out of view. It stands on a 400mm pole with an adjustable head.

Solid Natural Copper

This version is machined in solid natural copper. It starts as a warm reddish brown and will slowly darken outdoors, building up a patina of its own. Inside is a screw mounted 4 watt Cree LED, which the brand states delivers around 360 lumens.

How the Glare Guard Works

The hood is a friction fit shield that rotates through 360º and stays where you set it. It protects the eye from the direct sparkle of the LED and helps send unwanted light away from passers by. The glass is fitted flush so water does not collect on it, and a hexcell louvre baffle can be used with the guard for extra control.

Choose Your Beam, Colour and Lens

• Beam: 26º is narrow and carries furthest, 36º is a medium beam, and 74º gives a wide spread.
• Colour temperature: 2200K is the warmest, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a neutral white.
• Lens: clear for a crisp beam, frosted for a softer edge.

How It Works

Push the pole into the soil, tilt the head to aim it and turn the hood to suit the view. The fitting is low voltage and needs a suitable driver, which is not included. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. The LED and the optic can both be replaced later.

Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where It Works Best

It is a good match for a big feature tree, a hedge or a sculpture that is seen from a terrace, path or window, where you want warm, strong light without a bright point of glare. We can also supply longer poles, so please contact us to discuss the length you need.

Good to Know

• Rated IP68 for protection against dust and water, so it is built for outdoor use.
• Copper is a natural material and will develop its own patina over time, so older fittings will look different from new ones.

Questions People Ask

Is the M4 copper glare guard version brighter than the M2?

Yes. The M4 has a 4 watt LED that gives around 360 lumens, while the M2 has a 2 watt LED that gives around 180 lumens.

How tall is the pole spot with glare guard?

The pole is 400mm long and the whole fitting measures 550.1mm from the tip of the spike to the top of the glare guard. How much shows above ground depends on how deep you push it into the soil.

Will the copper change over time?

Yes. Natural copper darkens outdoors and slowly develops a patina. This is normal for the material.

What is the hood for?

It shields the lens so the LED is not seen directly, and it directs light away from people nearby. It turns through 360º and holds its position.

Is a driver included?

No. It needs a suitable low voltage driver, sold separately. We recommend a registered electrician installs it.

Can I get a longer pole?

Yes. We can supply longer poles, so please contact us with the length you need.
