LuxR Modux 4 Pole Spot - Copper - Low Voltage

Warm Copper With Extra Light Output

The LuxR Modux 4 Pole Spot in copper pairs a natural, warm finish with a 4 watt LED, so it puts out about twice the light of the Modux 2. It sits on a slim 400mm pole with an adjustable head, which makes it well suited to bigger trees, taller sculpture and deeper borders.

Machined From Solid Natural Copper

This version is machined in solid natural copper. It starts as a rich reddish brown and, left outdoors, will slowly darken and develop its own patina, so it blends into planting more and more as the seasons pass. Inside is a screw mounted 4 watt Cree LED, which the brand states delivers around 360 lumens.

Choose Your Beam, Colour and Lens

• Beam: 26º is the tightest beam and carries well up a tall trunk, 36º is a medium beam, and 74º is a wide spread for broader planting.
• Colour temperature: 2200K is the warmest and most candle like, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a neutral white.
• Lens: pick clear for a defined beam, or frosted for a softer edge to the light.

How It Works

Push the pole into the soil and turn the head to aim the light. As a low voltage fitting it needs a suitable driver, which is not included. A dimmable driver lets you dim it. Because the LED and the optic can be replaced, you can change the colour or the beam width later without buying a new light.

Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where It Works Best

Copper suits natural planting, timber and stone. Use the M4 to uplight a large specimen tree, to wash a big feature with warm light, or to give a hedge or tall grasses more presence at night. If you need a taller pole, we can supply longer ones, so please contact us to discuss the length you need.

Good to Know

• Dimensions: head 40.6mm diameter and 65.6mm long, pole 400mm, overall length 505.3mm. Longer poles are available on request, please contact us.
• Rated IP68 for protection against dust and water, so it is built for outdoor use.
• Copper is a natural material and will develop its own patina over time, so older fittings will look different from new ones.
• Warranty: 10 years on the solid copper, with 5 years on the LED and electronics.
• Returns are accepted as normal, unless the item is made to order.
• Made in New Zealand.
• Usually ships in 2 to 3 days. If out of stock, allow 3 to 5 weeks.

Questions People Ask

Does the M4 copper pole spot change colour outdoors?

Yes. Natural copper ages outside, and the surface slowly darkens and develops a patina. This is normal for the material.

Should I choose the M2 or the M4?

The M4 has a 4 watt LED that gives around 360 lumens, while the M2 has a 2 watt LED that gives around 180 lumens. Choose the M4 for larger trees or when the light needs to reach further, and the M2 for smaller features and a subtler effect.

Which beam angle is best for a tall tree?

A 26º beam is the best choice for reaching up a tall, narrow trunk. A 36º beam suits a rounder tree, and a 74º beam suits low, wide planting.

How tall is the M4 pole spot?

The pole is 400mm long and the whole fitting measures 505.3mm from the tip of the spike to the top of the head. How much shows above ground depends on how deep you push it into the soil.

Is a driver included?

No. The fitting needs a suitable low voltage driver, sold separately. We recommend a registered electrician installs it.

Can I get a longer pole?

Yes. We can supply longer poles, so please contact us with the length you need.
