A Copper Path Light That Lights Two Ways
The LuxR Modux 4 PL2 Opposite is a very small low voltage path light with two 90º flanges facing opposite directions, so it sends light both ways along a line. The brand states it gives a wash of light 5º below the flange lip and 10º above. The light source is a 4 watt Cree LED with a CRI of 90 plus.
Solid Copper With a Natural Patina
This version is machined from copper. It starts out bright and warm, then slowly develops a soft natural patina outdoors, which helps it blend into brick, timber and planting. For a cool silver finish, the same light is also made in marine grade 316 stainless steel.
Choose Your Colour Temperature
- 2200K: a very warm, candle like glow.
- 2700K and 3000K: warm white, comfortable beside planting and timber.
- 4000K: a crisper neutral white.
How It Works
The fitting is recessed into a surface using a 43.5mm cut out. Its two 90º flanges (listed as 2x90º) point in opposite directions, so light travels out of both sides while the other two quarters stay dark. The fitting runs on low voltage, so it needs a suitable constant current driver, which is not included, and it is wired in series. It is dimmable when paired with a suitable dimmable driver. The LED can be replaced or swapped for a colour LED, and the optic can be changed to alter the beam width.
Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where It Works Best
This is the one to choose when a single fitting needs to light in two directions, such as a path that runs past a wall end, a gap between two beds or a stepped route. Fewer fittings may be needed along a path compared with one directional lights. The same design is also available with 90º, 180º, 270º and 360º flanges, and in the Micro and M2 sizes.

What does opposite mean on this path light?
It has two 90º flanges facing opposite directions (2x90º). Light comes out of two sides of the fitting and the other two sides stay dark.
Does it come with a driver?
No. It is a low voltage fitting and needs a suitable constant current driver, sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. We recommend a registered electrician installs it.
Will the copper change colour?
Yes. Copper develops a natural patina outdoors over time, so the finish softens and darkens gradually. This is normal and is part of its appeal.
What size hole does it need?
The cut out size is 43.5mm. The fitting comes with 1m of cable.
Can I change the LED later?
