A Small Powder Coated Louvre Wash Light in Four Colours
The LuxR Modux 4 Louvre Recessed is a very small low voltage washer that gives an attractive wash of light, often used to light stair treads. This version is UV powder coated aluminium, so you can match the flange to the surface it sits in.
Choose Your Colour and Colour Temperature
- Powder coat colour: Matt Black, Matt Bronze, Matt White or Matt Dark Grey. Black and bronze almost vanish into dark treads, while white and dark grey stand out more.
- Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white.
How It Works
Recess the fitting into a 43.5mm cut out. The louvre gives an asymmetric wash that spreads light across the surface beside it. The light source is a replaceable 4 watt Cree LED. The fitting runs on low voltage, so it needs a suitable constant current driver, which is not included, wired in series. It is dimmable when paired with a suitable dimmable driver. A 1m cable is supplied. The LED can be swapped for a colour LED, and the optic can be changed to alter the beam width.
Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where It Works Best
It works well on stair treads, decking, step risers and wall bases, anywhere you want a wash of light rather than a spot. It is also available in M2.

Does it come with a driver?
No. It is a low voltage fitting and needs a suitable constant current driver, sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. We recommend a registered electrician installs it.
Can I return a white or dark grey one?
Matt White and Matt Dark Grey are marked Non-Returnable in the colour selector, which means they cannot be returned once ordered. Physical colour swatches are available on request if you want to check first.
Can I change the LED later?
Yes. The Cree LED can be replaced or swapped for a colour LED, and the optic can be changed to alter the beam width.
