A Larger Stainless Steel Louvre Wash Light With a 61mm Flange
The LuxR Modux 4 Large Louvre Recessed is a small low voltage washer with a bigger face than the standard Louvre. The flange is 61mm across the flats, compared with 53mm on the regular fitting. It is useful when the mounting hole is generous or when you want the flange to cover more of the hole edge. This version is machined from marine grade 316 stainless steel.
Marine Grade 316 Stainless Steel
Stainless steel keeps a bright, crisp finish with a nautical feel, and it suits decks, jetties and modern paving. The light source is a replaceable 4 watt Cree LED with a CRI of 90 plus.
Choose Your Colour Temperature
- 2200K: a very warm glow.
- 2700K and 3000K: warm white, a good all round choice.
- 4000K: a crisper neutral white that pairs well with the cool tone of steel.
How It Works
Recess the fitting into a 43.5mm cut out. The louvre gives an asymmetric wash that spreads light across the surface beside it. The fitting runs on low voltage, so it needs a suitable constant current driver, which is not included, wired in series. It is dimmable when paired with a suitable dimmable driver. A 1m cable is supplied. The LED can be replaced or swapped for a colour LED, and the optic can be changed to alter the beam width.
Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where It Works Best
It works well on stair treads, decking, step risers and wall bases, anywhere you want a wash of light rather than a spot. It is also available in M2.

How much larger is the large louvre?
The flange is 61mm across the flats, against 53mm on the regular Modux 4 Louvre. The cut out stays at 43.5mm.
Does it come with a driver?
No. It is a low voltage fitting and needs a suitable constant current driver, sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. We recommend a registered electrician installs it.
Is stainless steel suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. This version is marine grade 316 stainless steel and the fitting is rated IP68, so it is designed for outdoor use.
What is a louvre wash good for?
It produces an attractive wash of light and is often used to light stair treads. The beam is an asymmetric wash.
Can I change the LED later?
Yes. The Cree LED can be replaced or swapped for a colour LED, and the optic can be changed to alter the beam width.
