A Small Hanging Light for Trees and Ceilings

The LuxR Modux 4 Hanging Light is a compact cylinder that hangs from a stainless steel cable and sends light downwards. It is designed to be suspended from a ceiling or a tree, either for plain downward illumination or for a soft moonlighting effect. The body is only 40.6mm across, so it looks like a small, neat pendant rather than a big fitting.

Marine Grade 316 Stainless Steel

This version is machined in 316 stainless steel, a marine grade metal chosen for outdoor fittings. The plain cylinder has a clean, silver look that suits modern gardens and terraces. The light source is a screw mounted 4 watt Cree LED, which the brand states delivers around 375 lumens with a CRI of 90+.

Choose Your Beam, Colour and Lens

• Beam: 26º is a narrow beam for a tight pool of light, 36º is a medium spread, and 74º is a wide wash.
• Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white.
• Lens: clear glass gives the sharpest beam, and frosted glass softens its edges.

How It Works

The light hangs from the loop eye at the top of the body on a stainless steel cable. Cable lengths are available on request, so please contact us to discuss what you need. It runs on low voltage from a 700mA constant current driver, which is sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. The LED can be replaced later, and the optic can be changed to alter the beam width, so you can adjust the light without buying a new fitting.

Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where It Works Best

Hang it from a tree branch to light the ground below, or from a ceiling over a terrace or seating area. A group of three or four at different heights makes a simple, modern display.
