LuxR Modux 4 Hanging Light - Powder Coat - Low Voltage

A Small Hanging Light in Seven Powder Coat Colours

The LuxR Modux 4 Hanging Light in powder coat is a compact cylinder that hangs from a stainless steel cable and sends light downwards. It is designed to be suspended from a ceiling or a tree, either for plain downward illumination or for a soft moonlighting effect. The body is only 40.6mm across, and the choice of seven colours lets it blend into foliage or match your garden hardware.

Powder Coated Aluminium

This version is made in aluminium with a matt powder coat. It is available in matt black, matt bronze, matt olive green, matt white, matt white birch, matt dark grey and matt silver star. Matt black is a deep, non reflective black, and matt bronze is a dark brown that suits timber, bark and earth. The light source is a screw mounted 4 watt Cree LED, which the brand states delivers around 375 lumens with a CRI of 90+.

Choose Your Colour, Beam, Temperature and Lens

• Colour: pick from the seven powder coat finishes.
• Beam: 26º is a narrow beam for a tight pool of light, 36º is a medium spread, and 74º is a wide wash.
• Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a neutral white.
• Lens: clear gives the crispest beam, and frosted softens the edges.

How It Works

The light hangs from the loop eye at the top of the body on a stainless steel cable. Cable lengths are available on request, so please contact us to discuss what you need. It runs on low voltage from a 700mA constant current driver, which is sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. The LED can be replaced later, and the optic can be changed to alter the beam width, so you can adjust the light without buying a new fitting.

Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where It Works Best

Hang it from a tree branch to light the ground below, or from a ceiling over a terrace or seating area. The darker finishes disappear against foliage and shadow, while the lighter ones suit pale stone and modern planting schemes. A group of three or four at different heights makes a simple, modern display.

Questions People Ask

What colours does the powder coat hanging light come in?

Seven finishes: matt black, matt bronze, matt olive green, matt white, matt white birch, matt dark grey and matt silver star. Bronze is a dark brown.

Can I see a colour sample before I order?

Yes. Colours on screen are for guidance only, and physical colour swatches are available on request.

Which beam angle should I choose?

Choose 26º for a narrow pool of light, 36º for a medium spread, and 74º for a broad wash.

Does it come with a driver?

No. It is a low voltage fitting that needs a suitable 700mA constant current driver, sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. We recommend a registered electrician installs it.

How big is it?

The body is 75mm high and 40.6mm across, with a 35mm loop eye above it for the cable.

What length is the cable?

Cable lengths are available on request. Please contact us and we will confirm the right length for your project.

Can I change the LED later?

Yes. The 4 watt Cree LED can be replaced, so the colour or beam can be changed without a new fitting.
