A Brass Hanging Light for Trees and Ceilings
The LuxR Modux 4 Hanging Light is made to be suspended from a ceiling or a tree, either to throw light downwards or to give a moonlighting effect. The body is 40.6mm in diameter and 75mm long, so it is a compact fitting that hangs discreetly. This version is precision machined from brass.
Brass With a Warm Tone
Brass has a warm, golden colour that looks at home among foliage and timber. The light source is a replaceable 4 watt Cree LED with a CRI of 90 plus. The brand states it comes with a stainless steel cable at 1m or 3m lengths, so contact us to confirm which length you need.
Choose Your Beam, Colour and Lens
- Beam: 26º is a narrow beam, 36º is a medium beam, and 74º is a wide beam for a broader pool of light.
- Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white.
- Lens: clear gives the sharpest beam, while frosted softens the edges of the light.
How It Works
Hang the light from a branch, beam or ceiling on its stainless steel cable so it points downwards. The fitting runs on low voltage, so it needs a suitable constant current driver, which is not included, wired in series. It is dimmable when paired with a suitable dimmable driver. A 1m cable is supplied. The LED can be replaced or swapped for a colour LED, and the optic can be changed to alter the beam width.
Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where It Works Best
Hang it in a tree to light a seating area below, or under a pergola or porch ceiling for downward light. Several at different heights can build a layered scheme. It is also available in M2.
