A Stainless Steel Wall Wash Light for Floors and Walls
The LuxR Modux 2 Wall Wash is a very small low voltage recessed light that spreads an even, uniform wash of light. It is designed mainly to be set into floors to wash a wall, and it can also be fitted into a wall to wash the floor. The flange is just 58mm across. This version is machined from marine grade 316 stainless steel.
Marine Grade 316 Stainless Steel
Stainless steel keeps a bright, clean finish that suits modern paving, stone and glass. The light source is a replaceable 2 watt Cree LED with a CRI of 90 plus, and the brand states the optic gives excellent beam uniformity.
Choose Your Colour Temperature
- 2200K: a very warm glow.
- 2700K and 3000K: warm white, a good all round choice.
- 4000K: a crisper neutral white that suits cool, modern materials.
How It Works
Recess the fitting into a 43.5mm cut out. The beam is asymmetric, which pushes the light across the surface beside it. The fitting runs on low voltage, so it needs a suitable constant current driver, which is not included, wired in series. It is dimmable when paired with a suitable dimmable driver. The brand states it can be over driven safely to a maximum of 3 watts for more output. A 1m cable is supplied. The LED can be replaced or swapped for a colour LED, and the optic can be changed to alter the beam width.
Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where It Works Best
Use it to wash a wall, fence or hedge from a terrace, path or deck edge, or fit it into a wall to wash the ground below. Place several in a row for a smooth, even finish.
