A Stainless Steel Step Light with a Slot for a Fine Accent
The LuxR Modux 2 Step Light with Slot is a very small low voltage step light. The main beam gives a wash of light 5º below the flange lip and 10º above. A narrow slot on the opposite side adds a fine decorative accent, so one small fitting does two jobs.
Marine Grade 316 Stainless Steel
This version is precision machined in marine grade 316 stainless steel, with a clean, bright finish that suits contemporary steps, rendered walls and stone cladding. The light source is a 2 watt Cree LED.
Choose Your Colour Temperature
- Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white that pairs well with the cool tone of stainless steel.
How It Works
The step light is recessed into a wall or step riser, with the main beam washing across the tread and the slot giving a thin line of light the other way. The fitting runs on low voltage, so it needs a suitable constant current driver, which is not included, and it is wired in series. It is dimmable when paired with a suitable dimmable driver. The LED can be replaced or swapped for a colour LED, and the optic can be changed to alter the beam width.
Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where It Works Best
Use it to light the wall beside step treads, the treads themselves, the space above a doorway, or as a path wayfinder. The slot adds a little extra detail, which makes this version a good choice where the fitting will be seen up close. Moonlight Design uses LuxR fittings in its own garden lighting designs and installations. It is also available in M4.

What does the slot do?

Does it come with a driver?
