A Powder Coated Step Light in Four Colours
The LuxR Modux 2 Step Light is a very small low voltage step light that produces a wash of light 5º below the flange lip and 10º above. It is recessed into the surface, so only the small round flange shows.
UV Powder Coated Aluminium
This version is made from aluminium with a UV powder coat in Matt Black, Matt Bronze, Matt White or Matt Dark Grey, so the flange can match the wall, riser or cladding around it. The light source is a 2 watt Cree LED.
Choose Your Colour and Colour Temperature
- Powder coat colour: Matt Black and Matt Dark Grey suit darker surfaces, Matt Bronze sits well on warm brick or timber, and Matt White disappears into pale walls.
- Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white.
How It Works
The step light is recessed into a wall or step riser, with the light washing across the tread. The fitting runs on low voltage, so it needs a suitable constant current driver, which is not included, and it is wired in series. It is dimmable when paired with a suitable dimmable driver. The LED can be replaced or swapped for a colour LED, and the optic can be changed to alter the beam width.
Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where It Works Best
Use it to light the wall beside step treads, the treads themselves, the space above a doorway, or as a path wayfinder. The powder coat colours make it easy to keep the fitting discreet against painted or rendered surfaces. Moonlight Design uses LuxR fittings in its own garden lighting designs and installations. It is also available in Micro and M4.

No. It is a low voltage fitting and needs a suitable constant current driver, sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. We recommend a registered NICEIC electrician installs it.

Can I change the LED later?
