A Small Round Recessed Spotlight
The LuxR Modux 2 Round Recessed is a small low voltage outdoor spotlight with a round flange. It sits in a surface with only the flange showing. In stainless steel it has a crisp, clean look that suits paving and modern settings.
Marine Grade 316 Stainless Steel
This version is precision machined from marine grade 316 stainless steel, which keeps a clean, cool, silvery finish and is chosen for outdoor use. The light source is a 2 watt Cree LED with a CRI of 90 plus.
Choose Your Options
- Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white.
- Beam: 26º is the narrowest, 36º is a medium beam and 74º is the widest, for more spread.
- Lens: clear gives the sharpest beam, while frosted softens the edges of the light.
How It Works
The fitting recesses into a 43.5mm cut out. It is supplied with 1m of H05RN-F cable and runs on low voltage, so it needs a suitable constant current driver, which is not included, wired in series. It is dimmable when paired with a suitable dimmable driver. The Cree LED can be replaced or swapped for a colour LED, and the optic can be changed to alter the beam width.
Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where It Works Best
Use it to light a tree, a wall or a feature from a decking, paving or ground surface. A narrow beam picks out a single subject, and a wide beam fills a larger area. The same design is also available in the M1 and M4.

What size hole does the round recessed need?
It needs a 43.5mm cut out, and the flange is 58mm in diameter. It is supplied with 1m of cable.
Does it come with a driver?
No. It is a low voltage fitting and needs a suitable constant current driver, sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. We recommend a registered NICEIC electrician installs it.
Which beam angle should I choose?
Choose 26º to pick out a single feature, 36º for a medium spread, and 74º for a wide wash across a larger area.
Is stainless steel right for outdoors?
