A Pole Spot That Keeps the Glare Out of Sight
The LuxR Modux 2 Pole Spot with Glare Guard is a compact low voltage spotlight on a 400mm pole, fitted with an adjustable hood over the lens. The hood shields the eye from the direct sparkle of the LED and keeps stray light away from people walking past. It is a good pick for lighting near paths, seating and windows.
Marine Grade 316 Stainless Steel
The head, hood and pole are made in 316 stainless steel, a marine grade metal chosen for outdoor fittings. The finish is a clean silver that suits modern gardens. Inside is a screw mounted 2 watt Cree LED, which the brand states delivers around 180 lumens.
What the Glare Guard Does
The glare guard is a friction fit hood that you can turn through a full 360º and set in any position. It shields the lens so the LED is not seen head on, and it lets you direct light away from where you do not want it. The glass sits flush, so water does not pool on the lens. It can also be used with a hexcell louvre baffle if you want extra control.
Choose Your Beam, Colour and Lens
- Beam: 26º is narrow, 36º is medium and 74º is wide. Narrower beams work well with the hood for tightly aimed accent lighting.
- Colour temperature: 2200K is very warm, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is neutral white.
- Lens: clear glass gives the crispest beam, while frosted glass softens the edge of the light.
How It Works
Push the pole into the soil, tilt the head towards your subject and turn the hood to cut off any glare. The fitting runs on low voltage, so it needs a suitable driver, which is not included. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. The LED and the optic can be replaced later.
Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where It Works Best
Choose the glare guard version where the light will be seen from the side: along a path, beside a patio or in a border close to a window. It lights trees, shrubs and sculpture just as the standard pole spot does, with a more comfortable view of the fitting. We can also supply longer poles, so please contact us to discuss the length you need.

Questions People Ask
What does the glare guard do on a pole spot?
It is an adjustable hood over the lens. It stops people seeing the LED directly and directs unwanted light away from passers by. It turns through 360º and holds its position by friction.
Can I add a glare guard to the standard M2 pole spot later?
The glare guard is also sold as a separate accessory for the M2 and M4 range. Please contact us to check it suits the fitting you already have.
Which beam angle should I choose?
Choose 26º to light one feature, 36º for a medium sized shrub or sculpture, and 74º for a broad wash across planting.
How tall is the pole spot with glare guard?
The pole is 400mm long and the whole fitting measures 550.1mm from the tip of the spike to the top of the glare guard. How much shows above ground depends on how deep you push it into the soil.
Is a driver included?
No. It is a low voltage fitting and needs a suitable driver, sold separately. We recommend a registered electrician installs it.
Can I get a longer pole?
Yes. We can supply longer poles, so please contact us with the length you need.
