The LuxR Modux 2 Pole Spot is a compact low voltage outdoor spotlight on a 400mm pole. The head is only 40.6mm across, so it sits quietly in a border while it picks out a tree, a sculpture or a clump of grasses. The head is adjustable, so you can aim the light exactly where you want it.

Marine Grade 316 Stainless Steel

This version is precision machined in 316 stainless steel, a marine grade metal made for outdoor use. The ribbed head and plain pole give it a clean, silver look that suits modern gardens. The light source is a screw mounted 2 watt Cree LED, which the brand states delivers around 180 lumens.

Choose Your Beam, Colour and Lens

• Beam: 26º is a narrow beam for a single feature, 36º is a medium beam, and 74º is a wide wash for planting and lower shrubs.
• Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white.
• Lens: clear glass gives the sharpest beam, while frosted glass softens the edges of the light.

How It Works

Push the pole into the soil and angle the head towards your subject. The fitting runs on low voltage, so it needs a suitable driver, which is not included. It is dimmable when paired with a suitable dimmable driver. The LED and the optic can both be replaced later, so you can change the colour or the beam width without buying a new light.

Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where It Works Best

This is a good choice for uplighting a specimen tree, grazing light across a sculpture, or lifting ornamental grasses and shrubs out of the dark. The 400mm pole holds the head above lower planting so the light is not blocked by leaves. We can also supply longer poles. Please contact us to discuss the length you need.

Questions People Ask

What is the difference between the M2 and M4 pole spot?

The M2 uses a 2 watt LED that gives around 180 lumens. The M4 uses a 4 watt LED that gives around 360 lumens, so it suits larger trees or longer throws of light. The pole and head look the same.

Which beam angle should I choose?

Choose 26º to light one feature such as a single tree trunk, 36º for a medium sized shrub or sculpture, and 74º for a broad wash across planting.

Does the M2 pole spot come with a driver?

No. It is a low voltage fitting and needs a suitable driver, sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. We recommend a registered electrician installs it.

How tall is the M2 pole spot?

The pole is 400mm long and the whole fitting measures 505.3mm from the tip of the spike to the top of the head. How much shows above ground depends on how deep you push it into the soil.

Can I get a longer pole?

Yes. We can supply longer poles, so please contact us with the length you need.

Can I change the LED later?

Yes. The 2 watt Cree LED is screw mounted and can be replaced, and the optic can be swapped to change the beam width.
