LuxR Modux 2 Pole Spot - Copper - Low Voltage

Solid Copper on a Slim Garden Pole

The LuxR Modux 2 Pole Spot in copper is a small low voltage spotlight raised on a 400mm pole. The head is only 40.6mm across, so it stays discreet while it lights a tree, a sculpture or a stand of grasses. The head adjusts, so you can point the light exactly where you want it.

Precision Machined Solid Copper

This version is machined in solid natural copper, which starts out a warm reddish brown. Outdoors, copper ages naturally, so the colour will slowly deepen and change over the seasons. If you like a garden that mellows with time, this is the finish to pick. Inside the head sits a screw mounted 2 watt Cree LED, which the brand states delivers around 180 lumens.

Choose Your Beam, Colour and Lens

• Beam: 26º gives a tight beam for one feature, 36º is a balanced medium spread, and 74º floods a wider area of planting.
• Colour temperature: 2200K is the warmest glow and sits well with copper, 2700K and 3000K are classic warm white, and 4000K is a cooler neutral white.
• Lens: the clear lens keeps the beam crisp, and the frosted lens softens its edges.

How It Works

Push the pole into the ground and tilt the head to aim the light. This is a low voltage fitting, so it needs a suitable driver, which is sold separately. Pair it with a dimmable driver if you want to dim it. The LED and the optic can be swapped later, so you can change the beam width or the colour without replacing the whole light.

Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where It Works Best

Copper looks especially good against green foliage and stone. Use it to uplight a favourite tree, to graze light across a sculpture, or to lift ornamental grasses out of the dark. The 400mm pole holds the head clear of lower planting. We can also supply longer poles, so please contact us to discuss the length you need.

Good to Know

• Dimensions: head 40.6mm diameter and 65.6mm long, pole 400mm, overall length 505.3mm. Longer poles are available on request, please contact us.
• Rated IP68 for protection against dust and water, so it is built for outdoor use.
• Copper is a natural material and will develop its own patina over time, so older fittings will look different from new ones.
• Warranty: 10 years on the solid copper, with 5 years on the LED and electronics.
• Returns are accepted as normal, unless the item is made to order.
• Made in New Zealand.

Questions People Ask

Will the copper change colour outdoors?

Yes. Natural copper ages when it is left outside, and the finish slowly darkens and develops a patina. This is normal and is part of the appeal of the material.

What is the difference between the M2 and M4 pole spot?

The M2 uses a 2 watt LED that gives around 180 lumens. The M4 uses a 4 watt LED that gives around 360 lumens, which suits larger trees or longer throws of light. The pole and head look the same.

Which beam angle suits a garden tree?

A 26º beam picks out a single trunk or a tall narrow feature, a 36º beam suits a medium sized tree or shrub, and a 74º beam is better for a broad spread of planting.

Is a driver included?

No. The fitting needs a suitable low voltage driver, sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. We recommend a registered electrician installs it.

How tall is the M2 pole spot?

The pole is 400mm long and the whole fitting measures 505.3mm from the tip of the spike to the top of the head. How much shows above ground depends on how deep you push it into the soil.

Can I get a longer pole?

Yes. We can supply longer poles, so please contact us with the length you need.
