A Small Wall Mounted Light That Shines Up and Down

The LuxR Modux 2 Pillar Light is a small cylinder that fixes to the wall and sends light both up and down the surface from one fitting. Despite the name, it is a wall mounted light rather than a free standing pillar. It is only 40.60mm across and 176mm high, so it gives subtle ambient lighting beside doors, paths and garden walls without drawing attention to itself.

Solid Brass

This version is CNC machined in solid brass, which has a warm gold colour. Brass naturally patinas over time, forming a protective layer that improves its corrosion resistance and durability, so it looks richer with age. The fitting uses 4 watts, which the brand states delivers around 350 lumens with a CRI of 90+.

Choose Your Beam, Colour and Lens

• Beam: 26º is a narrow beam, 36º is a medium spread, and 74º is a wide wash.
• Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white.
• Lens: clear glass gives the sharpest beam, and frosted glass softens its edges.

How It Works

A mounting plate is fixed to the wall with two screws, and the light then fits onto the plate. It is a low voltage fitting that needs a remote driver, which is sold separately. The brand's standard option is a 700mA constant current driver, and a dimmable driver lets you dim the light.

Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where It Works Best

Use it beside a front door, along a garden wall, at the edge of a path or on a terrace, wherever you want a soft wash of light above and below the fitting. The warm gold of the brass suits brick, stone and timber. A glare guard or a snoot can be added if you want tighter control of the light.
