A Tiny Powder Coated Louvre Recessed Wash Light
The LuxR Modux 2 Louvre Recessed is a very small low voltage recessed light that produces an attractive wash of light. It is often used to light stair treads, and it sits in a 43.5mm cut out. The beam is an asymmetric wash, so the light is thrown across a surface rather than straight down.
UV Powder Coated Aluminium in Four Colours
This version is powder coated aluminium with a UV resistant finish, so it can be matched to the surface around it. Choose from Matt Black, Matt Bronze, Matt Dark Grey or Matt White. The light source is a 2 watt Cree LED with a CRI of 90 plus, and the fitting is rated IP68.
Choose Your Colour and Colour Temperature
- Colour: Matt Black and Matt Bronze blend into dark surfaces, while Matt Dark Grey and Matt White suit lighter ones.
- Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white.
How It Works
Set the fitting into a 43.5mm cut out so the louvre throws its light across the tread or surface. It runs on low voltage, so it needs a suitable constant current driver, which is not included, and it is wired in series. It is dimmable when paired with a suitable dimmable driver. The Cree LED can be replaced or swapped for a colour LED, and the optic can be changed to alter the beam width.
Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where It Works Best
Use it on painted or rendered steps, risers and walls, where the louvre keeps the light source out of sight. It is also available in M4.

What size hole do I need?
The cut out is 43.5mm.
Does it come with a driver?
No. It is a low voltage fitting and needs a suitable constant current driver, sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. We recommend a registered electrician installs it.
Which colours are available?
Matt Black, Matt Bronze, Matt Dark Grey and Matt White. Matt Dark Grey and Matt White are marked Non-Returnable in the colour selector.
