A Small Brass Light You Can Hang from a Ceiling or Tree

The LuxR Modux 2 Hanging Light is designed to be suspended from a ceiling or from trees, to give downward light or a dynamic moonlighting effect. The head is small, just 40.6mm across with a 75mm body, but it hangs from a stainless steel cable in 1m or 3m lengths, so check the drop you need before you order.

Machined Brass

This light is precision machined from brass. The light source is a 2 watt Cree LED with a CRI of 90 plus, which helps foliage and stonework look true to colour. It is rated IP68 for protection against dust and water.

Choose Your Beam, Colour and Lens

• Beam: 26º is a narrow beam, 36º is a medium beam, and 74º is a wide beam. A narrow beam from height gives a defined pool of light, while a wide beam spreads it out.
• Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white.
• Lens: clear gives the sharpest beam, while frosted softens the edges of the light.

How It Works

Hang the light from its stainless steel cable, then connect it to a suitable power supply. The fitting runs on low voltage, so it needs a suitable constant current driver, which is not included, and it is wired in series. It is dimmable when paired with a suitable dimmable driver. The Cree LED can be replaced or swapped for a colour LED, and the optic can be changed to alter the beam width.

Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where It Works Best

Hang it from a pergola, a porch ceiling or the branches of a mature tree. Used high up, it can light a table or path below, or give a soft moonlight effect through the canopy. It is also available in M4.

Does it come with a driver?

No. It is a low voltage fitting and needs a suitable constant current driver, sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. We recommend a registered electrician installs it.
