A Slim Ground Spike Pole With One Aimable Light Head
The LuxR Modux 1 Single Pole Light is a slim 25.4mm pole that pushes straight into the ground, with a single small spot head set on a short arm at the top. Unlike the Modux 1 Saber, which is a glare free marker that washes light 360º around the pole, this fitting throws a directional beam from an adjustable head, so you choose exactly what it lights. It is made for picking out pathways, garden features and individual plants or landscape elements.
Marine Grade 316 Stainless Steel
This version is machined in 316 stainless steel, a marine grade metal chosen for outdoor fittings. It has a clean, silver look that suits modern gardens. The light source is a pin mounted 1 watt Cree LED, which the brand states delivers around 80 lumens, a soft output that suits gentle accent lighting.
Choose Your Beam, Colour and Lens
- Beam: 16º is a narrow beam for a single feature, 37º is a medium spread, 84º is a wide wash, and the oval beam (listed on the spec sheet as 13º + 40º) stretches light sideways rather than in a round pool.
- Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white.
- Lens: clear gives the sharpest beam, and frosted softens its edges.
How It Works
Push the pole into the soil, then tilt the head to aim the light. The fitting runs on low voltage from a 350mA constant current driver, which is sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. The LED can be replaced later, so you can change the colour or the beam without buying a new fitting.
Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where It Works Best
Use it beside a path, in a border or next to a shrub, tree trunk or sculpture, wherever you want a controlled beam rather than an all round glow. For hard surfaces, a flange mount is available, and a glare guard can be added if you want tighter control of the light. Please contact us to check the right accessory for this fitting. We can also supply custom pole lengths, so please contact us to discuss what you need.

Questions People Ask
What is the difference between the Single Pole Light and the Saber?
The Single Pole Light has an adjustable spot head on the side of the pole that you aim at a feature. The Saber has its light source in the top of the pole and gives a glare free 360º wash, which makes it a path marker rather than a spotlight.
Which beam angle should I choose?
Choose 16º for a tight beam on one feature, 37º for a medium spread, 84º for a wide wash, or the oval beam to spread light sideways along a border or low wall.
Is a driver included?
No. It needs a suitable 350mA constant current driver, sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. We recommend a registered electrician installs it.
How tall is it?
The whole fitting is 703mm long, from the tip of the spike to the top of the pole. How much shows above ground depends on how deep you push it into the soil. The head projects out to the side, and the drawing shows 104.5mm across the head and pole.
Can I change the LED later?
Yes. The 1 watt Cree LED can be replaced, so the colour or beam can be changed without a new fitting.
