A Small Pole Spot With a Hood Over the Lens

The LuxR Modux 1 Pole Spot with Glare Guard is the most compact pole spot in the range, fitted with an adjustable hood that shields the lens. The hood keeps the LED out of direct view and stops stray light reaching people nearby, which makes it a comfortable choice beside paths, seating and windows. It stands on a 400mm pole with an adjustable head.

316 Stainless Steel

The fitting is made in 316 stainless steel, a marine grade metal chosen for outdoor lighting, with a cool silver finish. Inside is a pin mounted 1 watt Cree LED, which the brand states delivers around 80 lumens, a soft output made for accent lighting.

What the Glare Guard Does

The guard is a friction fit hood that turns through a full 360º and stays where you set it. It protects the eye from the direct sparkle of the LED and helps direct light away from where it is not wanted. The glass is fitted flush so water does not pool on the lens, and a hexcell louvre baffle can be used with the guard for extra control.

Choose Your Beam, Colour and Lens

Beam: 15º is a very narrow, long reach beam, 30º is a tight spot, 53º is a wider cone, and the oval beam stretches light sideways along a low wall or border edge.
Colour temperature: 2200K is very warm, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is neutral white.
Lens: clear for a crisp beam, frosted for a softer edge.

How It Works

Push the pole into the soil, tilt the head and turn the hood to cut glare. The fitting runs on low voltage from a 350mA constant current driver, sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. The LED can be replaced later.

Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where It Works Best

Choose this version where the light will be seen from the side: along a path, around a patio or in a border close to the house. It suits small shrubs, pots and low planting. For more output, the Modux 2 and Modux 4 pole spots are also available with a glare guard. We can also supply longer poles, so please contact us to discuss the length you need.
