A Tiny Shielded Pole Spot in Seven Colours
The LuxR Modux 1 Pole Spot with Glare Guard is the smallest spotlight in the pole spot range, with an adjustable hood fitted over the lens. The hood hides the LED from direct view and keeps stray light away from people nearby. Seven powder coat colours let the whole fitting blend into the border or match your other outdoor metalwork.
Powder Coated Aluminium
The fitting is made in aluminium with a UV stable polyester Eco matt powder coat, offered in matt black, matt bronze, matt olive green, matt white, matt white birch, matt dark grey and matt silver star. Matt black is a deep, non reflective black, and matt bronze is a dark brown. Inside is a pin mounted 1 watt Cree LED, which the brand states delivers around 80 lumens, a soft output for accent lighting.
What the Glare Guard Does
The guard is a friction fit hood that turns through a full 360º and holds its position once set. It protects the eye from the direct sparkle of the LED and helps direct light away from where it is not wanted. The glass is fitted flush so water does not pool on the lens, and a hexcell louvre baffle can be used with the guard for tighter control.
Choose Your Colour, Beam, Temperature and Lens
- Colour: any of the seven powder coat finishes.
- Beam: 15º is a very narrow, long reach beam, 30º is a tight spot, 53º is a wider cone, and the oval beam stretches light sideways along a low wall or border edge.
- Colour temperature: 2200K is very warm, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is neutral white.
- Lens: clear for a crisp beam, frosted for softer edges.
How It Works
Push the pole into the soil, tilt the head and turn the hood to cut glare. The fitting runs on low voltage from a 350mA constant current driver, sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. The LED can be replaced later.
Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where It Works Best
Choose it where the light will be seen from the side, such as beside a path, patio or window, and for small scale planting such as ferns, pots and low shrubs. We can also supply longer poles, so please contact us to discuss the length you need.

Questions People Ask
What does the glare guard add to the M1 powder coat pole spot?
It adds an adjustable hood over the lens that stops the LED being seen directly and reduces light spill towards people nearby.
Which finishes are offered?
Seven finishes: matt black, matt bronze, matt olive green, matt white, matt white birch, matt dark grey and matt silver star. Bronze is a dark brown.
Can the hood be rotated?
Yes. It rotates through 360º and stays in place by friction.
Is a driver included?
No. It needs a suitable 350mA constant current driver, sold separately. We recommend a registered electrician installs it.
How tall is the M1 pole spot with the glare guard?
The pole is 400mm long and the whole fitting measures 515mm from the tip of the spike to the top of the glare guard. How much shows above ground depends on how deep you push it into the soil.
Can I get a longer pole?
Yes. We can supply longer poles, so please contact us with the length you need.
