Warm Copper, a Gentle Glow and a Shielded Lens
The LuxR Modux 1 Pole Spot with Glare Guard pairs a solid copper body with a small adjustable hood over the lens. The hood hides the 1 watt LED from direct view and keeps stray light away from eyes, so the fitting is a pleasure to look at as well as to light with. It stands on a 400mm pole with an adjustable head just 30.95mm across.
Solid Natural Copper
This version is machined in solid natural copper. It begins as a warm reddish brown and will darken gently outdoors, building up a patina of its own. Inside is a pin mounted 1 watt Cree LED, which the brand states delivers around 80 lumens, a soft output that suits warm accent lighting.
How the Glare Guard Works
The hood is a friction fit shield that rotates through 360º and stays where you leave it. Point it away from paths, seating and windows to keep the light where you want it. The glass is fitted flush so water does not collect on the lens, and a hexcell louvre baffle can be used with the guard if you want tighter control.
Choose Your Beam, Colour and Lens
- Beam: 15º is a very narrow, long reach beam, 30º for a tight accent, 53º for a wider cone, and oval to spread light along a low wall or border.
- Colour temperature: 2200K gives the warmest glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a cooler white.
- Lens: clear gives a crisp beam and frosted softens its edges.
Installing and Powering It
Push the pole into the soil, tilt the head and turn the hood to suit the view. The fitting is low voltage and needs a 350mA constant current driver, sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim it. The LED can be replaced later without changing the fitting.
Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where It Works Best
Use it beside a path, deck or seating area where the fitting will be seen at eye level, or among small shrubs, ferns and pots close to the house. We can also supply longer poles, so please contact us to discuss the length you need.
Good to Know

- Rated IP68 for protection against dust and water, so it is built for outdoor use.

Questions People Ask
Why choose the glare guard version of the copper M1 pole spot?
The hood stops the LED being seen directly and keeps stray light away from people nearby. It is most useful where the fitting sits at eye level.
Will the copper darken?
Yes. Natural copper ages outdoors and slowly develops a patina. This is normal for the material.
Can the hood be turned?
Yes. It is a friction fit hood that rotates through 360º and stays in place once set.
Is a driver included?
No. It needs a suitable 350mA constant current driver, sold separately. We recommend a registered electrician installs it.
How tall is the M1 pole spot with the glare guard?
The pole is 400mm long and the whole fitting measures 515mm from the tip of the spike to the top of the glare guard. How much shows above ground depends on how deep you push it into the soil.
Can I get a longer pole?
Yes. We can supply longer poles, so please contact us with the length you need.
