The Pathos Bollard Light is machined from 316 marine grade stainless steel, the same specification used on boat fittings and seafront ironmongery, so it shrugs off salt air without pitting or staining. A softly domed polycarbonate diffuser spreads light evenly downward along paths and driveways, giving a smart, understated glow rather than a glare.

Choosing your height and sensor

This bollard is available in a single stainless steel finish, so the real choice here is height and control. Pick the 0.6m version for tighter borders and step edges, or the taller 0.8m for open driveways and longer sightlines. Each height can be ordered with or without a builtin photocell, which switches the light on automatically at dusk and off again at dawn; without it, the bollard runs from whatever switch or timer it is wired to.

How it works

Power comes straight from the mains with no separate driver to install, and the fitting is wired in parallel so several bollards can be run from the same circuit. It takes a single ES/E27 bulb, sold separately; Lumena recommends a 15W LED corn bulb to fill the diffuser evenly. On photocell versions, a small sensor built into the head reads ambient light levels and switches the bollard on as daylight fades.

The 316 stainless build makes this the version to choose for coastal gardens, seafront paths and any site where salt spray corrodes lesser metals over a season or two. It suits domestic driveways, courtyards and light commercial approaches equally well, and the adjustable base plate lets it sit level even where the ground underneath is uneven paving or gravel.
