Understated pathway lighting with a flat topped head

The Parabola Flat brings a low glowing wash of light along paths and driveways rather than a bright glare, thanks to twin parabolic reflectors and a tough UV stabilised polycarbonate diffuser inside a flat topped head. It is built from die cast aluminium with stainless steel fixings, so it stays rust free through repeated wet winters.

Choosing your height, mount and sensor

This bollard is sold in graphite black only, so the decisions here are about height, mounting and sensor. Surface mounted versions come in 0.4m, 0.6m, 0.8m or 1.0m heights and bolt straight onto a fixed base; root mounted versions start at 0.6m and bury at least 400mm into concrete for extra stability against knocks. Either can be specified with a builtin photocell that switches the light on automatically from dusk until dawn, or without one if you prefer to control it from a separate switch or timer.

How it works

Power runs straight from the mains with no driver to fit, and the bollard is wired in parallel so several units can share one circuit. Root mounted versions are recommended with a 12W LED daylight white bulb, while the surface mounted base suits a 6 to 13.5W LED; spacing bollards around 3m apart gives the most even wash of light along a path. On photocell versions, a sensor in the head reads falling light levels and switches the fitting on as dusk approaches.

Where it works best

The flat head gives a cleaner, more architectural line than the domed or pillar versions in the same range, so it suits modern driveways, courtyards and commercial approaches where a neater silhouette matters. The root mounted option adds resistance to vandalism and impact, making it a sound choice for public paths and car parks as well as domestic gardens.
