Parabola: A Soft Glow to Trace the Edge of a Path

Parabola swaps a single lens for a double parabolic reflector head, spreading a gentler, low level wash of light down each side of the bollard rather than a single bright pool, which makes it a good match for anyone who wants pathway marking without a row of bright dots.

Picking your height and mount

Four heights are available, from a low 0.4m marker up to a 1.0m post, and every height above 0.4m can be ordered Root Mounted or Surface Mounted. Surface Mounted bollards bolt onto an existing hard standing, while Root Mounted versions have a longer buried section designed to be set into at least 400mm of concrete for extra stability. Unlike the Fortress range, Parabola is offered with a Photocell option only, for automatic dusk till dawn switching, rather than a PIR sensor.

How it works

Both the reflector and the clear, UV stop polycarbonate diffuser sit above a die cast aluminium body, spreading light evenly downward while shielding the bulb itself. The bollard takes a single E27 bulb, sold separately, rated up to 60W. For Root Mounted versions a 12W LED daylight white bulb is the recommended fit, while Surface Mounted versions work well with anything from 6W to 13.5W LED, with bollards spaced around 3m apart for even coverage.

Where it works best

Parabola suits driveways and garden paths where a softer, low level light is preferred over a single bright glow, and its rustproof aluminium construction with stainless steel screws means it holds up well in an exposed spot at the front or back of a property.
