A Tall Ribbed Cylinder Capped in Metal
The Temple Wall Light hangs a hand blown ribbed glass cylinder from a curved plated metal arm, with a metal collar around the top of the glass that holds it in place. Leverint calls it a fusion of glamour and modern elegance, and the deep vertical ribs catch the light beautifully. It is a long, substantial wall light, standing 335mm tall and 80mm wide and weighing approximately 3.2kg, so please check the size and make sure the wall can carry it before ordering.
Choose Your Finish
Each light is made to order in your choice of metal finish, chosen from the swatches and dropdowns above on this page when you order. The shade is hand blown ribbed glass. Leverint plates the arm, collar and backplate in polished brass, brushed brass, weathered brass, bronze, polished nickel or satin nickel, so you can match it to the rest of your scheme. The photos show the light with a brass finish in one picture and a darker, aged looking metal in an installed picture. Because the glass is blown by hand and the metal is plated by hand, the colour and texture of your light may vary slightly from the photos, and screens show colour differently from one device to another. If you are unsure about a finish before ordering, please call our customer service team.
How It Works
The light takes one E14 bulb, up to 40W. It is not supplied with a bulb as standard, but you can add Leverint's T20 LED filament bulb from the bulb dropdown above, or choose no bulb and fit your own. The light is mains dimmable according to Leverint, so it can be dimmed when it is wired to a compatible dimmer switch and fitted with a dimmable bulb. The arm projects 143mm from the wall. This is a hardwired fitting, and we recommend having it installed by a qualified electrician, ideally NICEIC registered.
If you need the light for a bathroom, Leverint offers an IP44 conversion, which you can add by choosing Yes in the IP44 Conversion dropdown above. Please read our guide to bathroom lighting zones first.
Where It Works Best
Leverint suggests the Temple Wall Light for hallways, bathrooms and bedrooms. The tall, narrow glass suits a hallway or staircase wall, where a pair makes a formal rhythm, and works either side of a bed or a bathroom mirror. In an installed photo the ribbed glass throws long vertical stripes of warm light up the wall, which gives a lit wall extra texture even when the room is otherwise plain.
Made By Leverint
Leverint is a hand blown glass lighting studio based in Enfield, London, where each piece of glass is shaped by hand rather than cast in a mould. The studio says it draws on more than a century of glassblowing experience through its parent company, G Farley and Sons. Deep, regular ribs running the full height of a tall cylinder depend on careful, even work from the first gather of glass to the finished shade.
