A Near Metre High Column of Ribbed Glass

The Temple Pillar Light Large is a tall wall light with a vertical column of ribbed hand blown glass, held to the wall by two round fixings. It is a big fitting: 980mm tall and 100mm wide, projecting 60mm, so it will dominate a wall rather than sit quietly on it. The light comes from integrated LED strips, and the ribbed glass spreads it into long vertical stripes that fill the height of the fitting. Please check the measurement against your wall, ceiling height and nearby furniture before you order. Leverint suggests it as a duo, which looks striking either side of a large mirror or a bed.

Choose Your Finish

The Large is made to order in your choice of hand blown glass, plated metal finish and LED colour, picked from the swatches and dropdowns above when you order. The glass is available in ribbed or fine ribbed, and Leverint plates the metalwork in polished brass, brushed brass, weathered brass, bronze, polished nickel or satin nickel. The LED strip can be 2700K warm, 3000K warm white or 4000K natural white. As the glass is blown by hand and the metal is plated by hand, the colour and texture of your light may vary slightly from the photos, and screens show colour differently from one device to another. How It Works

This is a hardwired, mains powered fitting. Two LED linear COB strips sit behind the glass and are driven by one external driver, which Leverint says must be concealed within a cavity, so the driver position needs thinking about before the wall is finished. The light is mains dimmable, and Leverint recommends a TRIAC dimmer, leading edge only. We recommend that a qualified electrician installs it, ideally one who is NICEIC registered.

Leverint suggests contemporary bedrooms, hallways and bathrooms, and the Large's height suits walls with room to breathe: a generous hallway, a feature wall beside a bed, or either side of a wide bathroom mirror. Leverint is a hand blown glass lighting studio based in Enfield, London, where each piece of glass is shaped by hand rather than cast in a mould. The studio says it draws on more than a century of glassblowing experience through its parent company, G Farley and Sons, and its founders bring decades of lighting design and glass artistry to every light. On a fitting close to a metre tall, any unevenness in the ribbed glass would show, which is why the shape asks so much of the glassmaker.
