A Single Dot of Hand Blown Glass

The Pimlico Centred Sealed Dot takes one small globe of hand blown glass and sets it right in the middle of a round backplate, like a dot placed dead centre in a circle. It works equally well as a wall light or a flush ceiling fitting, and its sealed construction means it copes happily with steam and splashes as well as everyday rooms.

Choose Your Finish

This fitting ships in your choice of hand blown glass and plated metal finish, chosen when you order. The photos here show it in Ribbed glass on a Polished Brass finish, but Leverint blows the same globe in Fine Ribbed, Opaque White, Ribbed Twist and Fine Ribbed Twist glass too, and plates the backplate in Brushed Brass, Weathered Brass, Bronze, Polished Nickel or Satin Nickel, so you can match it to the rest of your scheme.

How It Works

A single G9 bulb sits inside the glass, rated at 1.5W max and not supplied as standard, so you can choose the exact warmth and brightness you want. It is mains dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer switch and dimmable bulb. The round backplate measures 200mm across and the whole fitting projects 168mm out from the wall or ceiling, with the glass globe itself around 140mm wide. The glass is sealed against the backplate, which keeps moisture out and lets it work in damp spaces. As with any hardwired fitting, we recommend having it installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where It Works Best

Use it as a considered wall light in a hallway, or fit it flush to the ceiling in a kitchen, bedroom, dining room or living room where you want a compact glow rather than a large shade taking up headroom. Leverint is a hand blown glass lighting studio based in Enfield, London, where every shade is shaped by hand rather than cast from a mould. The studio says it draws on more than a century of glassblowing experience through its parent company, G Farley and Sons, and its founders Andrew Print, John Leveridge and Lee Rowland bring decades of combined lighting design and glass artistry to each piece they make.
