The Monument Medium Pendant is a rounded clear glass shade with a pinched waist that gives it a soft double bulge, hand blown in Leverint's London studio and hung on a fabric sleeved cable. Leverint describes the Monument as designed for dramatic feature lighting, with sculptural lines and an edgier look than most contemporary pendants. The Medium is 200mm wide and 180mm high, a generous but manageable size for a single statement light. The studio photo may show a different size from the Medium, so please use the measurements on this page to judge scale.

Each pendant is made to order in your choice of plated metal finish and fabric flex colour, chosen from the swatches and dropdowns above on this page. The shade is hand blown clear glass, and Leverint's page offers no other glass choice for the Monument, so the glass stays clear while you pick the metalwork around it. The metalwork can be finished in polished brass, brushed brass, weathered brass, bronze, polished nickel or satin nickel, and the cable comes in charcoal, whisky, slate grey, linen, coffee or khaki. Because the glass is blown by hand and the metal is plated by hand, the colour and texture of your pendant may vary slightly from the photos, and screens show colour differently from one device to another. How It Works

The pendant hangs on 1 metre of fabric sleeved cable as standard and takes one E14 bulb of up to 40W. A bulb is not supplied as standard, but you can add Leverint's T20 LED filament bulb from the dropdown above, or choose no bulb and fit your own. Leverint lists the Monument as mains dimmable, so it will work with a compatible dimmer switch and dimmable bulb. The ceiling rose is 65mm across. As a hardwired ceiling fitting, it should always be installed by a qualified electrician, ideally one who is NICEIC registered.

Where It Works Best

Because the shade is clear and open at the base, the bulb is on show, so a filament style bulb makes a feature of itself inside the glass. The Medium suits a spot where one pendant has to carry the room, such as above a dining table, at the foot of a staircase or in an entrance hall. Hung in a pair or a trio at slightly different heights, the pinched waist shapes catch the light along their curves and give a kitchen island or a long console a sculptural line of glass.

Made By Leverint

Leverint is a hand blown glass lighting studio based in Enfield, London, where every shade is shaped by hand rather than cast from a mould. The studio says it draws on more than a century of glassblowing experience through its parent company G Farley and Sons. A waisted form like the Monument's is shaped by hand, so each shade has slight differences in its curves.
