A Ceiling Classic, Brought Down To The Desk
Model 375 brings Le Klint's heritage pendant Model 107, designed by Esben Klint in 1942, down onto a table lamp base. Like the ceiling hung Model 180, it combines that original rounded, enclosed shade with an oak stem, this time built for a desk or console rather than the ceiling.
Light or smoked oak, standard or paper
The stem comes in light oak, keeping an open, pale grain, or smoked oak, fumed to a deeper brown. The shade choice sits alongside it: standard foil for a bright, easy to clean white, or paper for a warmer, more tactile finish that develops a golden patina over time.
How it works
It's available in three sizes: X-Small (21cm high, 18cm diameter, E14 fitting), Small (25cm high, 22cm diameter, E14 fitting) and Medium (38cm high, 33cm diameter, E27 fitting). It runs from a flat, sand coloured, 191cm mains cable to a plug, so there's no ceiling wiring involved.
Where it works best
Its closed, rounded shade gives a soft, glare free glow that suits a desk, console table or bedside, echoing the ceiling hung Model 180 for anyone wanting the same look at table height.
Rooted in Le Klint's 1942 Model 107
Model 375 puts Esben Klint's 1942 design, Model 107, onto a table base rather than a ceiling flex. That shade shape comes from a hand pleating technique the Klint family began developing around 1900, when architect P. V. Jensen-Klint folded a shade for a petroleum lamp to soften its glare, said to be inspired by Japanese origami. The craft was passed down and refined until Tage Klint formally founded Le Klint in 1943, and every Model 375 shade is still hand pleated in the Odense workshop today; it typically takes a new folder around a year to learn the technique and two to three years to fully master it.

Questions people ask
- What's the difference between the three sizes? X-Small stands 21cm high with an 18cm shade and takes an E14 bulb, Small is 25cm high with a 22cm shade also on E14, and Medium is 38cm high with a 33cm shade on an E27 fitting.
- Should I choose the standard or paper shade? Standard foil stays bright white and wipes clean easily, while paper has a softer, more tactile surface that mellows to a warm golden patina over time; both use the same hand pleated fold.
- Does it come with a bulb? No, it's supplied without one. X-Small and Small fit E14, and Medium fits E27, each with its own recommended maximum wattage.
