A directional spotlight built to age with character
The Hunza Wall Spot mounts to a wall and throws a precise, directional beam rather than washing an entire surface, so it suits picking out one thing rather than lighting everything: a specimen tree, a change in level, a doorway, or a single architectural detail. The head sits on a fully adjustable arm giving 360 degree rotation and 0 to 90 degree elevation, so you set the angle once at installation and it holds. This version is solid copper and runs on low voltage.
The copper finish
The head and wall plate are solid copper, not a plated or coated copper effect, so the metal develops a natural patina outdoors, moving from a bright polished tone toward a darker brown and, in some environments, a green verdigris over the years. Hunza treats this as a feature of the design rather than something to prevent. The short pivot that connects the head to the wall plate is brass, standard across the range, letting the joint move freely without wearing.
How It Works
Once the arm is angled where you want it, it holds that position, so the beam stays pointed at whatever you aimed it at rather than drifting over time. The head measures 63.5mm in diameter and 75mm long, with a 45mm arm and a 75mm diameter, 28mm deep wall base, and it is supplied with a 1 metre cable.
Being low voltage, it needs a transformer to step the mains supply down, sold separately. It is not supplied with a bulb, and to keep the IP66 rating and the warranty valid it must be run with a Hunza approved MR16 LED lamp. The same fixture is also available as a GU10 mains version if you would rather avoid running a transformer.
Where It Works Best
As a spotlight rather than a wash light, it suits single features rather than long runs of wall: a specimen tree or shrub, a piece of garden sculpture, a change in level on a path, or one detail on a facade worth drawing the eye to, particularly where copper's warm tone and slow change over the years will suit the setting.
Our Experience With Hunza
Moonlight Design has specified Hunza fittings since we were founded in 2003, over 23 years of watching how copper pieces like this one age in real gardens. The lifestyle photographs on this page are our own, taken on real installations rather than supplied as stock imagery, and show the kind of pooled, directional light this fixture produces once it is mounted and aimed.

Questions People Ask
Can I angle this light straight down instead of outward?
Yes. The arm gives 0 to 90 degree elevation and full 360 degree rotation, so it can be set anywhere from a near horizontal beam to pointing straight down the wall, and it holds whatever angle you choose.
How long before the copper changes colour?
It varies with local rainfall and air quality, but most copper Hunza fittings visibly darken within the first year or two outdoors and continue to deepen after that. There is no way to slow this once installed, since ageing is the nature of solid copper.
Do I need an electrician to fit this?
We recommend using a registered NICEIC electrician, since it involves a low voltage transformer and outdoor wiring.
What is the difference between this and the GU10 version?
This low voltage version needs a transformer and a Hunza approved MR16 LED lamp. The GU10 mains version wires straight into a standard mains circuit with a GU10 LED lamp instead, so there is no transformer to run.
