Hunza Wall Down Light GU10 - Powder Coat - Mains

A mains wash light finished to match your scheme

The Hunza Wall Down Light GU10 has a fixed head that throws a steady, even wash of light down a wall or a length of cladding rather than a directional beam. Running on GU10 mains keeps the installation simple: no transformer, just a standard mains connection.

This version comes in Hunza's powder coated aluminium finish, so instead of a raw metal look you get a flat matt colour that can be chosen to match or contrast with the building.

The powder coated finish

The colour is baked onto the aluminium rather than sprayed on as wet paint, giving a harder, more even matt surface that holds up better outdoors. There are seven options: Black, Dark Grey, White, Birch, Bronze, Olive Green and Silver Star. Black and Bronze are Hunza's standard powder coat colours; Dark Grey, Olive Green, Silver Star, White and White Birch are made to order shades, and Hunza notes that colours shown are for guidance only, with swatches available on request.

How it works

Once mounted, the head is fixed in the direction you set it, up or down the wall. It's suitable for timber, masonry or stone, the body is water resistant, and it's supplied with its mounting base and stainless steel fixing screws. It measures 90mm high and 82.5mm wide, with a 28mm projection off the wall.

It isn't supplied with a bulb, and to keep the IP rating and warranty valid, it must be run with a Hunza approved GU10 LED lamp. The same fixture is also available in a low voltage version if you'd prefer to run it through a transformer instead.

Where it works best

This is a wash light for flat, vertical surfaces: render, brick, timber cladding, gable ends and boundary walls, rather than a spotlight for a single feature. Choosing a colour close to the wall it's fixed to lets the fitting recede during the day and do its work after dark.
