A Soft Pool of Light Over Your Borders, in Solid Copper
The Hunza Pure LED Tier Light is a hooded light on a pole, designed to light medium level foliage such as shrubs and perennial borders. It gives 360 degrees of illumination on a horizontal plane and sends no light upward, so the glow stays down among the planting and does not spill into the sky. This is the low voltage version in copper, with a Cree LED chip built in.
Copper That Ages With the Garden
The hood and pole are solid copper. Hunza designs this finish to weather: bright and warm at first, turning brown and then a soft green as the seasons pass. Among leaves and flowers, that gradual change tends to blend in rather than stand out. Anyone wanting a finish that stays put can choose the same Tier Light in 316 stainless steel or powder coated aluminium.
How It Works
- The hood is 260mm in diameter, the body is 155mm long, and the pole is 38mm in diameter and 700mm long.
- Light is spread through 360 degrees horizontally, with no vertical light, giving a gentle pool at the level of the planting.
- A Cree LED chip produces 510 lumens from 6 watts at 1050mA, with a CRI of 90 or more at 3000K. Parts can be serviced if needed.
- Choose from 2200K, 2700K, 3000K or 4000K.
- Low voltage and wired in series, so it needs a remote LED driver, sold separately. A suitable dimmable driver allows dimming.
- A 1m cable is supplied. Rated IP66, with a 10 year warranty and 5 years on the LED.
Where It Works Best
- Mixed borders, where the light falls across shrubs at mid height
- Beside a path, lighting the planting rather than the path surface itself
- Gravel gardens and beds with ornamental grasses
- Around a lawn edge, to give the planting depth after dark
How We Use Hunza in Real Gardens
Since 2003 Moonlight Design has been specifying Hunza and fitting it in real gardens. Our Design Service page shows photographs of finished schemes and how a layout is planned, drawn up and installed by NICEIC registered electricians. If you would like help deciding where tier lights belong in your own planting, start there.

- Returns accepted within 14 days if the fitting is unused, uninstalled and in its original packaging.
- A remote LED driver is required and sold separately. Have your electrician plan the series wiring before installation.
- The copper will patina outdoors, which is normal and not a fault.
- We recommend installation by a registered NICEIC electrician.
