Marine Grade Stainless Steel, Set Into the Ground
Some lights are meant to be noticed. This one is meant to make the surface around it easier to see. The Hunza Pure LED Step Light is a small round fitting in marine grade 316 stainless steel that drops into stone, brick or timber and washes the area just in front of it with light. It is the low voltage version, and its Cree LED chip is part of the fitting, so there is no separate lamp to buy, and the LED board is field replaceable.
A Brushed Finish That Stays Consistent
Solid 316 stainless steel keeps the same brushed look from one fitting to the next, which suits a row of step lights or a long run along a driveway. In some environments it can pick up a light surface tarnish, and a regular wash keeps that in check. Prefer something warmer? The same step light also comes in solid copper and in powder coated aluminium.
How It Works
- The round flange measures 88mm across and 7mm deep. Behind it is a recessed body 63.5mm in diameter and 68.5mm long, and the cut out is 63.5mm.
- Fitted with mounting holes as standard. Install it with a canister and you can leave the holes unused.
- One Cree LED chip delivers 600 lumens at 1050mA (6 watts) with a CRI of 90 or more at 3000K, and the parts can be serviced.
- Choose 2200K, 2700K, 3000K or 4000K, then a 15, 25, 38 or 60 degree beam and either a clear or frosted lens.
- It is wired in series and needs a remote LED driver, sold separately. A suitable dimmable driver lets you dim it. The Hunza 1050mA driver is one option.
- 1m of cable is supplied. Rated IP67 with a 10 year warranty, and 5 years on the LED.
Where It Works Best
- Marking each tread on outdoor steps leading up to a door or terrace
- Paved areas and driveways, where a row of fittings sets out the edge
- Timber decking, with the flange sitting clean against the boards
- Pointing upward from the ground as a small recessed uplighter
How We Plan and Fit Hunza Lighting
We have worked with Hunza since 2003. We design lighting schemes for gardens, supply Hunza fittings and install them in real gardens. On our Design Service page you will find photographs of our own completed schemes, along with how we plan, draw up and install them using NICEIC registered electricians. Take a look if you would like help placing step lights in your own garden.
