A slim recessed eyelid light for shallow mounting surfaces
The Hunza SLIM Recessed Solid Eyelid Light, sometimes called a Seamless Eyelid, is built for places a standard step light body will not fit. Where most recessed eyelid lights need a deep canister behind the wall or step face, this version needs only 16mm, making it the option to reach for on shallow timber risers, thin rendered walls or slim masonry where depth is limited. This version is marine grade 316 stainless steel.
The stainless steel finish
The flange and eyelid hood are marine grade 316 stainless steel, chosen for its resistance to corrosion in exposed or coastal settings, and it keeps a consistent, neutral tone rather than ageing the way copper or bronze does. Behind the wall, the recessed body is an aluminium canister rather than stainless steel, which is how the fitting keeps its shallow depth.
How it works
The eyelid hood masks two thirds of the light source, eliminating upward spill and directing the beam down through a frosted lens onto the step or path below. The integrated Cree LED chip is field replaceable and wired in series through a remote low voltage driver rather than a simple transformer, and is dimmable if a suitable dimmable driver is used. The flange is 88mm in diameter, the recessed body 64mm across and just 16mm deep, with a matching 64mm cut out, and it's supplied with 1m of cable.
Where it works best
Suited to steps, low walls and thresholds where a standard eyelid light's body would be too deep to fit, particularly on timber decking, thin masonry or retrofit projects where you cannot go as deep as a full step light canister. The stainless finish also suits coastal or heavily exposed settings where a lower maintenance metal is preferred.
